“Somerset glamping at its finest”: welcoming our first guests to Hadspen Glamping

family glamping

So something exciting happened over the bank holiday weekend at the beginning of May. Yes, yes, we know all about the coronation of King Charlie.

We mean something a little closer to home…

What in the name of luxury camping was it, you ask?

Well, we welcomed our very first guests to test out the facilities and enjoy some beautiful time in the sunny Somerset countryside.

And we couldn’t wait to find out how they got on…

What did Hadspen’s first glampers get up to?

We asked our excited glampers all about their stay and how they spent their time during their weekend on site. Let’s say eating, sleeping and relaxing came up a lot…which we’re delighted about.

Plus, there was plenty of time spent exploring the local area, visiting nearby Castle Cary, Glastonbury Abbey and Alfred’s Tower. As well as heading down the road to the beautiful National Trust Stourhead in Wiltshire and whiling away time at The Newt, our famous next door neighbours.

Our favourite answer?

“We most enjoyed sitting on the decking enjoying the view and spotting wildlife, including deer, fox and pheasants on the hill opposite”

Now that’s what Somerset glamping is about.

What was our guests’ favourite thing about their glamping accommodation?

The log fire, the beds, the comfy sofa, the bathroom – especially the shower. All of these got a mention along with the space to run around and the peacefulness of the site location.

We were also pleased to see that the eco-friendly aspects of life at Hadspen Glamping got a mention. With recycling points and the eco-friendly products in all our safari tents commented on in particular. It’s so important to us that sustainability is considered in everything we do, and we’re delighted that our guests have already noticed that too.

Plus, we’re happy that our little ‘extra touches’ made our guests happy. Big or small, we make sure there is something for them all. But we’re not going to tell you which of our carefully planned details pleased our new arrivals the most…because we want to save some little surprises for your visit.

What did our mini glampers like about their stay?

The kids reported that the best bit about Hadspen Glamping was the space to play outside; to roam and explore the site. They spent as much time as possible rolling, running, exploring the field and looking for wildlife and fossils.

“Staying in the safari tent was one big adventure and we can’t wait to do it again.”

And our grown up glampers agreed:

“The site was clean, tidy and spacious with a lot of attention to detail. It felt like the children were welcomed with open arms, making Hadspen the perfect choice for a family glamping trip.”

And what about the lack of Wifi?

It was a unanimous positive among all of our guests.

They either didn’t notice because they were too busy doing other things or they were just grateful for the screen break.

The strong 4G signal in the area means it’s easy to look up local information or stay in contact with family and friends if necessary.

And anyway, said one, “the lack of Wifi is in keeping with the feel of the glampsite – we wouldn’t want it any other way!”
