Our spacious canvas lodges combine the freedom of being close to nature with the comforts of a beautifully equipped home. Each has its own kitchen, shower facilities, comfortable bedrooms, living area and private outdoor space, allowing you to enjoy the countryside without giving up the little luxuries that make a holiday special.

With only three safari lodges set across five secluded acres, Hadspen Glamping offers a peaceful, uncrowded setting where everyone has their own space. Each lodge is individually positioned to make the most of the surrounding countryside and beautiful views.
Every lodge has its own private wood-fired hot tub, giving you the freedom to relax whenever you wish. Spend a lazy afternoon soaking up the countryside views or enjoy a warm evening beneath the stars, with no shared hot tub facilities or allocated time slots.
From comfortable beds and fully equipped kitchens to bed linen, towels, firewood and BBQ charcoal, we’ve thought about the practical details so you don’t have to. Every stay also includes a complimentary welcome pack featuring local Somerset produce.

Hadspen Glamping is tucked away within a secluded five-acre meadow in the heart of Somerset. Surrounded by rolling countryside, our three luxury safari lodges have been carefully positioned to offer privacy, generous outdoor space and uninterrupted views across the surrounding landscape.
Unlike larger glamping sites, Hadspen has just three lodges, each with its own private veranda, BBQ and wood-fired hot tub. There are no communal hot tub facilities or busy shared outdoor areas, leaving you free to enjoy the peaceful setting in your own way.
Wake up to the sounds of the countryside, take breakfast outside on a sunny morning or spend a leisurely afternoon with a book. In the evening, gather around the table for dinner, enjoy the warmth of your wood-burning stove or relax in your hot tub as the stars appear overhead.

Whether you’re planning a day of sightseeing, a leisurely lunch or simply a wander around a pretty market town, there’s plenty to discover nearby.
Hadspen Glamping sits right next door to The Newt in Somerset, one of the county’s best-known garden attractions. Set within the grounds of historic Hadspen House, The Newt is home to magnificent gardens, orchards, a reconstructed Roman villa, exhibitions, a farm shop and places to eat.
Its beautifully landscaped grounds offer plenty to explore throughout the seasons, making it a lovely destination for guests who enjoy gardens, history, food and the outdoors.
We’re an independent business, but our neighbouring location makes The Newt a particularly convenient place to visit during your stay. Admission arrangements are managed separately by The Newt.
The nearby towns of Bruton and Castle Cary are both well worth exploring.
Bruton has become known for its thriving arts scene, independent galleries, interesting shops and excellent restaurants. Its historic streets and surrounding countryside make it an enjoyable place to spend a morning or afternoon, whether you’re visiting an exhibition or stopping somewhere for lunch.
Castle Cary is a charming Somerset market town, with attractive period buildings, traditional shops, independent cafés and welcoming pubs. It’s a lovely place to wander, browse local businesses and enjoy a slower pace of life.
Both towns offer a wonderful introduction to this part of Somerset and are only a short drive from your lodge.
If you’d like to venture a little further, Somerset has plenty more to offer.
Visit the historic city of Bath, famous for its Roman Baths and elegant Georgian architecture, or explore Wells, England’s smallest city, with its magnificent cathedral, medieval streets and historic market square.
Glastonbury is another memorable day out, with its famous Tor, ancient abbey and colourful independent shops.

The lodges take their names from quarries in the local area, reflecting the history of the surrounding landscape and our family’s connection to Hadspen Quarry. Although each lodge has its own individual style, all three offer the same thoughtful approach to comfort and privacy.
We’re proud of the fact that our Glamping accommodation in Somerset is off-grid, providing all the modern conveniences and comforts you could wish for without utilising mains gas or electricity.
Our safari-style canvas lodges are lit with solar power and heated with sustainable wood fired stoves and LPG gas.
If you’re coming from London we can offer you a car-free holiday, with Castle Cary station pick ups and drop offs – and we’ve got bicycles for you to use to explore the local area.

Hadspen Glamping welcomes guests from April through to October, offering countryside holidays throughout the spring, summer and autumn.
We offer flexible short breaks and longer stays, with a minimum of two nights for most dates and three-night minimum stays during selected peak periods. Whether you’re planning a weekend away, a midweek escape or a longer family holiday, you can choose the dates and accommodation that suit you.
Prices are £200 per night for Horsecombe, £220 for Lime Kiln and £240 for Grisway. Our nightly prices are the same all year round with no increases during school holidays.
At Hadspen Glamping, we love the idea of enjoying the countryside without compromising on comfort. Our safari lodges offer an off-grid glamping experience in Somerset, combining thoughtful design, practical facilities and the simple pleasures of being close to nature.
The lodges are powered by solar energy rather than mains electricity, with wood-burning stoves and LPG providing warmth and essential facilities. Water is supplied from our own private water supply, allowing us to provide comfortable accommodation in a peaceful rural setting.
Each lodge has its own private wood-fired hot tub, filled in preparation for your arrival. We provide the firewood you’ll need for your hot tub and stove, so you can enjoy cosy evenings indoors or a relaxing soak outside without worrying about bringing supplies.
There’s no Wi-Fi on site, which many guests find is a welcome opportunity to disconnect and enjoy time together. However, 4G reception is generally good on most mobile networks if you need to stay in touch.
If you’re travelling from London or elsewhere by train, Castle Cary railway station offers direct services from London Paddington. We provide station collections and drop-offs, making it possible to enjoy a countryside glamping break without bringing your own car.
Guests who would like to explore the surrounding area by bicycle can arrange cycle hire through local providers. Bicycles aren’t supplied directly by Hadspen Glamping, but there are options available locally.
It’s a more relaxed way to enjoy luxury glamping in Somerset, with modern comforts, beautiful surroundings and the freedom to slow down.
We want you to feel at home from the moment you arrive, which is why our luxury safari lodges are equipped with the practical things that make a self-catering holiday easy.
You’ll find comfortable beds made up with fresh linen, towels, kitchen equipment, cooking facilities and everyday essentials ready for your stay. Firewood for the stove and hot tub is provided, along with charcoal for your BBQ, so you can enjoy evenings indoors or outside without needing to bring everything with you.
Each lodge also has its own comfortable living and dining space, private shower facilities and veranda, giving you the flexibility to cook, eat, relax and spend time together in your own surroundings.
Every stay at Hadspen Glamping includes a complimentary welcome pack with a selection of locally sourced Somerset treats.
You’ll typically find biscuits, crackers, chutney and apple juice, along with a block of local cheese and a pint of milk waiting in your fridge. It’s our way of offering a little taste of Somerset and making your arrival feel special.
We also provide a well-stocked drinks caddy with teas, coffee and hot chocolate from Miles Tea, a Somerset-based tea and coffee company, so you can put the kettle on and settle in as soon as you arrive.
For guests who’d like to make their stay even easier, we offer a selection of food hampers available to purchase before arrival.
